Chapter 3
(Part 2)
(Part 2)
Rae dropped her hand to
rest it on the couch and focused on the television once more, the corners of
her lips curving upwards as she watched the kids playing an electronic
holographic board game.
‘About that officer, Officer Zachery
if I’m not mistaken, how could he not recognise you? You’re his childhood
friend.’ Neal spoke, wanting her to turn away from the television screen and
face him.
‘Probably my face has changed a
lot. I can’t really blame him if he can’t recognise me. It’s been twelve
years.’ Rae forced a smile, a fake smile. Hiding her sorrow and Neal knew it.
‘He’s a monster…seeing how he
treats the citizens around him…he’s just a pretty face up front but evil deep
down.’ Neal spoke with disdain and he grimaced as he remembered how Zachery had
shot her leg.
Rae only smiled at his remark, no
comments what so ever and she turned to face the television screen again, this
time switching to other entertaining channels as she said the channel straight
to the automated television. It was controlled by voice-automated input system.
Neal knew it was pointless if he
was going to ask her opinion on Officer Zachery because she would only give him
a short answer with a smile plastered on her pretty face. He knew she was not
going further than that and she was not going to entertain that question any
longer so, he just let it slide.
‘How’s the research going so far?’
Neal asked, not looking at her.
As if she knew he was going to
ask that question, she answered that she still couldn’t find any clue of the
man’s whereabouts.
‘It’s been twelve years since then
and everywhere I go, I search, I could not find any man who has a moon
birthmark near his left eye. Nonetheless, the only place I haven’t looked is the
Militia and the Galaxion Space Station.’
‘It’s not easy to gain access into
those areas.’ Neal simply said.
‘I know and I’m finding a way to
gain access. I’m just waiting for the opportunity to ‘strike’ the Militia. From
the Militia only I could gain access into the Galaxion Space Station, the main
control station of RavenDell City, Voire City, Millionne City, and Fyerrin
City. ‘
‘True that. Do you have any
strategy plan for this?’
‘Not yet. Coming up with one.’ Rae
lied, putting on a neutral expression.
In fact, she had a plan and she
was not going to reveal it to Neal yet. She wanted to give herself in to the
Militia by not disclosing Neal’s whereabouts and she wanted to use her blood as
a ‘reason’. She knew the Militia would be dying to obtain such blood as an
antidote for the virus.
‘Rae, you are a special human
being. An Asper. I know about your powers.’ Neal suddenly pointed out.
‘What’s with that?’ Rae blinked several
times.
‘Nothing, just reminding you who
you are.’ Neal said.
‘I wish I have supernatural
abilities like you too.’ Neal continued.
‘You can’t simply use the power as
you wish. Well, you can but not to abuse it.’ Rae replied, turning her focus
back to the television screen.
‘I know. You know me. I won’t use
it for bad purposes.’ Neal smiled his charming smile once again.
Rae only chuckled and returned her
focus once again.
Just at that moment, unknown to
both Rae and Neal, Aemilia had overheard their conversation, somewhere near the
part where Neal asked Gabriel does she have a strategy plan. She hadn’t meant
to eavesdrop but she couldn’t help her curiosity because she did not know much
about the girl, Rae Rolite.
Just
then, it had been just her luck, an Asper happened to be living in her home and
Aemilia knew the value of an Asper.
If she were to inform the Militia,
everything will be solved.
