                                                              Chapter 5
                                                                (Part 2)

They reached the orphanage after Rae stopped a cab. Neal greeted them, looking very worried and concerned. Recognising the situation, he immediately rushed to Aemilia’s aid while Rae was carrying the unconscious injured kid behind her back. Neal was shocked to see Rae’s condition, her cheek was bruised and the corner of her lips tore. Nevertheless, he ushered Aemilia to the lounge seeing that she was more worried about their condition rather than hers.

Rae laid the kid gently down onto the couch and wiped the sweat off from her forehead. She immediately fished for a pocket knife from the drawer located at the corner of the lounge and slit her right thumb to allow the blood flowing within her to ooze out, dripping it onto the kid’s injuries and then a little into his mouth. Neal only watched as he sat by Aemilia’s side, bringing her close to him.

After assuring that the kid’s injuries were healing slowly, Rae rushed to Aemilia’s side only to get yelled at before she could even donate some of her blood to heal Aemilia’s injuries. Rae was shocked and stunned. The same goes to Neal as he stared at her in shock.
             ‘Stay away from me!’
             ‘Aemilia…’
‘I don’t need your blood, your damn miracle blood!’ Aemilia yelled in frustration.

‘Won’t you just leave us alone already…? Ever since you came to this orphanage twelve years ago, you’ve caused nothing but miseries!’ she continued before Rae could speak, tears already welling up in her eyes.

‘Aemilia!’ Neal demanded but she was already out of control, ignoring Neal’s calling.

‘Every single day…wherever I go...i have to be extra cautious of the Militia soldiers, afraid that the soldiers might find out that I house you…do you even know that I live in fear every single day…?’

‘Just leave us alone already!’ Aemilia screamed and the tears trickled down uncontrollably.

Before Rae could say anything, Aemilia stood up, pushing away Neal’s arm and ran out of the lounge, leaving both Neal and Rae alone together with the unconscious kid on the couch. They could hear her loud desperate footsteps as she ran up to her room and the next thing they knew, she slammed her room door and there was silence, only leaving the curious kids peeking at the corners of the doorway, wondering what just happened.

Aemilia sobbed bitterly in her bed, trying her best to control her tears as she bit her lip. She hadn’t meant to say those words but she just couldn’t help it anymore as she shadowed all the anger and frustrations for the past twelve years.

She does not regret the words she said nor will she pull those words back.

After all that happened today, she had decided, she had made up her mind and she would not turn back. For the sake of the kids and the future of the orphanage and, also to protect Neal Norewood.

I no longer need you here anymore, Rae Rolite and, the job to protect Neal should be mine.”

My latest character design based on the theme 'Cyborg'. Somehow, she doesn't look anything like a cyborg...-_-

I'm sorry the body proportion is out. Still trying to improve my drawing skills.

Futurist 'Conspiracia' Chapter 5 (Part 1)

Here is Chapter 5. Your feedback is very much appreciated =D

                            Chapter 5
                                  (Part 1)

Rae could feel her heart shattering to pieces the moment he called her a ‘bitch’ and used his foot to make her face him.

It was a rude and typical way of a soldier who dislikes a citizen but it was hurtful for Rae because he was, in fact, her childhood friend, the boy whom she had fond memories with and he was the one who gave the harmonica as a birthday present, knowing that she was interested in music.

The harmonica was inside her dress pocket however, she was not going to show it to him because there was a high possibility that he couldn’t remember her at all. She was afraid if she showed him the harmonica, he would only smack it away and that was the last thing she’d want him to do.

Pushing away all her childhood memories, she managed to say to the word she’d always wanted to say to him after watching his heartless torture when he was madly searching for someone.

Rae, you no longer knows the ‘him’ now so, brace yourself.” She told herself silently in her heart.

For a moment, she could see that Zachery was surprised by her remarks, he was stunt and speechless for a moment before he kicked her face. He actually kicked her face!

‘You bloody bitch! Thanks to you, you are making my life difficult! Just few days ago, because of you, I was screwed for my failure in capturing Neal Norewood.’

The corner of Rae’s lip tore a little and blood trickled down, dripping onto the hard ground. She only gave him a hard stare; slowly it changed into a glare.

‘Just tell me his whereabouts already and I won’t bother you anymore.’ His glare of disdain bore down at her.

Rae remained silent, only glaring back at him. She was trying her best to refrain her anger which was burning deep in her soul. The blood continued to trickle down from her torn lip.
‘I’m asking you one more time, where is Neal Norewood?!’ he fairly yelled.

Rae chuckled as she fixated her stare at him, giving the kind of look which says ‘like as if I’m going to tell you’.

‘You! You are a real damn bitch!’ Zachery drew his laser gun from the pouch and pointed it at her, ready to pull the trigger anytime.

‘Last chance, tell me where’s Neal Norewood and I will let you go.’

Rae bit her lip although it hurts. She was reaching her limit because she especially hated it when someone points a gun at her and he was the second person who did so. Fury overwhelming deep in her, she finally made her move.

She grabbed Zachery’s left feet and pulled him down really hard and she quickly forced herself up. He landed down onto the hard ground with a loud thump. Balancing herself upright, she could feel the danger coming from behind and before Zachery had the chance to pull the trigger even when he’s already on the ground, Rae knelt, swatted him near his neck with the side of her hand, hard enough to make him faint.

Using the opportunity, she urged the traumatised Aemilia to stand as she carried the already unconscious kid behind her back. She guided Aemilia all the way home to the orphanage, gripping her left wrist tightly although Rae could feel the electrifying pain all over her own body, especially her back. She was hoping to get out of Zachery’s sight before he regained conscious whilst ignoring the crowd’s stare after the incident. It was surely going to be the headline’s news tomorrow and definitely it will become the hot topic for a month.

                             Chapter 4
                               (Part 2)

At that moment, Rae was speechless and furious by the sight of him.

‘I can’t believe you will go this far…to even torture a child…you heartless monster…I don’t know you. You are not the childhood friend I used to know before…’

Without a second thought, when Zachery was about to kick Aemilia, Rae lunged forward and pushed him with all her might, causing him to fall to the ground, hard, and his military hat fell off from his head, revealing a rich light brown coloured neatly combed hair, a few strands of his fringe fell forward from the neat combings.

‘You monster!’ she fairly yelled and stood in front of Aemilia and the kid, protecting them from the soldiers.

Before she knew it, the other soldiers who were watching from a corner came rushing forward with their electric baton in hand. Rae backed a step, drew her automated katana which was powered by a switch, forcing the sharp blade out as she pressed it. She knew this was going to turn into a fight but she hadn’t expected it to be so soon. She wasn’t prepared for it because it was just out of the blue.

Rae held up her katana, tighten her grip around the handle and a bloody battle started, one against six soldiers. The crowd backed away and some fled from the scene, afraid that they will get hurt too.

Thanks to her father’s martial arts practises, Rae knew some moves to strike the enemy as fast as possible. She dodged, swung her blade upwards to strike her enemy without killing him, side kicked her enemy from her dodging position and stood once again. She was fast enough to avoid a baton coming from the front and she hit the soldier’s back with her elbow, swung her blade again and there she goes! Another side kick, strong enough to cause the soldier to fall and hit the approaching soldiers like a ‘domino’.

That was her last opponent, her last strike when suddenly a steel rod came down and strike her directly on her upper back, causing her to fall and lay prostrate on the hard ground. It hurt her back badly as she just recovered from her injuries five days ago. Pain inflicted all over her body till she couldn’t stand to face her attacker.

‘You…you dare to hit me?!’ the attacker yelled and came around so that he was facing her although she could not see her attacker’s face. However, she knew who her attacker was, the voice she recognised so clearly.

He stepped closer and used the tip of his polished right boot to lift her chin up so that he could have a closer at her face.

‘You bitch!’ he glared down at her with disdain.

Heartbroken and enraged, Rae spat at him the words she longed to say for the past five years,

‘Officer Zachery Xaver Bishop, you in return, are a heartless bastard!’

Futurist 'Conspiracia' Chapter 4 (Part 1)

Again, I will break into parts seeming the chapter is too long. =)

                               Chapter 4
                                   (Part 1)

It’s just at that moment Aemilia returned home from her grocery shopping and she was about to check on Rae’s health, wondering if she had woken up already.

Aemilia made her way to the stairs after laying the filled paper bags onto the glass table in the lounge. It was just then that she heard conversations coming from the drawing room and she was positive she heard Rae’s voice.

               So, she has woken up.’

She made her way to the drawing room with the intention to give them a surprise. She knew Neal was in the drawing room too because who else will Rae converse so seriously in this home. Rae usually converse in a kid-like tone with the kids.

Just then, the word ‘Asper’ came to Aemilia’s ears, it was a word which could gain one’s attention. The human beings have long known the history of the war between the Aspers and human beings, being passed down from one generation to the next. Every humans knew the capabilities and the supernatural abilities possessed by the Aspers and every single humans longed to have those powers to their advantages.

However, in Aemilia’s case, she wanted to save the orphanage finance and thoughts ran in her mind, asking herself what would she gain if she were to hand in Rae to the Militia. Despite that, Aemilia somehow couldn’t bring herself to do so because after living under the same roof for twelve years, there was a bond between them, like a family.

What should I do…? To pretend that I didn’t hear anything or to…?’

                                      **********

3 days later…

Rae’s health and condition has fully recovered and she had regained her strength to operate fully. It was a cold late morning as it was the time for autumn, the late autumn.

She was about to set out for work in a music shop in City Square, as a shop assistant, assisting customers who came to inquire about musical instruments. The reason why she chose a music shop was because she had a keen interest in music as she was planning to pursue her studies in a music college but the situation forbids it. Leaving her with the only choice by self-learning, she practiced and composed various songs with her harmonica, a gift which she cherished very much.

‘I’m out!’ Rae said happily to Neal after buckling her shoe lace and stood up with a woven bag hang on her shoulder.

‘I will be home taking care of the kids. Just be careful.’ Neal smiled.

‘I will.’ She replied with a cheerful smile.

‘Wait, I feel like…somehow, this is a reverse of gender thingy…’ Neal said shyly, looking at the marbled floor.

‘Oh come on! You have Miss Aemilia with you. She will be back soon. You don’t have to feel like a ‘down-right’ husband.’ Rae smiled as she tapped Neal on his broad left shoulder.

Neal was beginning to sulk when suddenly a kid burst in through the entrance, crying and bleeding badly at his knee. He immediately ran to Rae who was standing close to the entrance and tugged at her coat tightly, begging and crying bitterly.

A rush of fear and terror stirred her insides as she knelt to assist the crying kid who was badly injured. She asked what was wrong as she brought the kid into her comforting arms, patting his little back softly as a way to offer solace.

‘Aemilia…Aemilia and Daniel…Daniel’ the kid sobbed, trying his best to control his tears.

‘It’s ok, it’s ok. Calm down. I’m here.’

It took the boy a few minutes to ease his sobbing and Rae pulled him away from her slowly so that she could get a clear view of his cute face where she noticed a small scratch at his cheek. She suddenly felt rage surging through her, swearing that she would not forgive the person who did that to a kid.

‘Aemilia…and Daniel…they are being pursued and hurt by soldiers from the…Militia…’ The kid spoke through clenched teeth as he controlled his sobbing.

The moment she heard the word ‘Militia’, Rae was outraged, she could feel the wild fire burning in her, she was furious.

Immediately she stood and led the kid to Neal who was standing, speechless by the kid’s short explanation.

‘Take care of him. I’m going to look for them and give those soldiers a taste of my fist.’ Rae spoke with fury and burst out from the orphanage’s entrance, determined to take those soldiers down. She ran along the housing streets like a mad dog, hoping to get there on time.

She could literally hear Neal’s shoutings from behind and it grew distant by the time she was about to enter City Square’s border. Sometimes, she felt like bursting into the Militia but something was pulling her from doing so. She knew the moment she steps into the Militia, death’s door is only waiting for her, anytime.

She approached the City Square’s main street and saw that a crowd had besieged upon the main attraction of their attention. Rae rushed in, pushing the other observers politely as she does not want to spark their anger because she did not want another person to add fuel to her already-burning fury.

The scene almost broke her heart, the sight was painful and ugly to her because she couldn’t bear to see a little kid bleeding badly in the arms of Aemilia Paxon who was badly injured too. She was protecting the little child who was about to faint any time soon, looking very weak and lifeless. It was Aemilia who was yelling at the officer, cruel harsh words coming out from her bleeding mouth. And…the officer who was standing right in front of them was…

             Zachery Xaver Bishop…

                                    Chapter 3
                                   (Part 2)

Rae dropped her hand to rest it on the couch and focused on the television once more, the corners of her lips curving upwards as she watched the kids playing an electronic holographic board game.

‘About that officer, Officer Zachery if I’m not mistaken, how could he not recognise you? You’re his childhood friend.’ Neal spoke, wanting her to turn away from the television screen and face him.

‘Probably my face has changed a lot. I can’t really blame him if he can’t recognise me. It’s been twelve years.’ Rae forced a smile, a fake smile. Hiding her sorrow and Neal knew it.

‘He’s a monster…seeing how he treats the citizens around him…he’s just a pretty face up front but evil deep down.’ Neal spoke with disdain and he grimaced as he remembered how Zachery had shot her leg.

Rae only smiled at his remark, no comments what so ever and she turned to face the television screen again, this time switching to other entertaining channels as she said the channel straight to the automated television. It was controlled by voice-automated input system.

Neal knew it was pointless if he was going to ask her opinion on Officer Zachery because she would only give him a short answer with a smile plastered on her pretty face. He knew she was not going further than that and she was not going to entertain that question any longer so, he just let it slide.

‘How’s the research going so far?’ Neal asked, not looking at her.

As if she knew he was going to ask that question, she answered that she still couldn’t find any clue of the man’s whereabouts.

‘It’s been twelve years since then and everywhere I go, I search, I could not find any man who has a moon birthmark near his left eye. Nonetheless, the only place I haven’t looked is the Militia and the Galaxion Space Station.’

‘It’s not easy to gain access into those areas.’ Neal simply said.

‘I know and I’m finding a way to gain access. I’m just waiting for the opportunity to ‘strike’ the Militia. From the Militia only I could gain access into the Galaxion Space Station, the main control station of RavenDell City, Voire City, Millionne City, and Fyerrin City. ‘

‘True that. Do you have any strategy plan for this?’

‘Not yet. Coming up with one.’ Rae lied, putting on a neutral expression.

In fact, she had a plan and she was not going to reveal it to Neal yet. She wanted to give herself in to the Militia by not disclosing Neal’s whereabouts and she wanted to use her blood as a ‘reason’. She knew the Militia would be dying to obtain such blood as an antidote for the virus.

‘Rae, you are a special human being. An Asper. I know about your powers.’ Neal suddenly pointed out.

‘What’s with that?’ Rae blinked several times.

‘Nothing, just reminding you who you are.’ Neal said.

‘I wish I have supernatural abilities like you too.’ Neal continued.

‘You can’t simply use the power as you wish. Well, you can but not to abuse it.’ Rae replied, turning her focus back to the television screen.

‘I know. You know me. I won’t use it for bad purposes.’ Neal smiled his charming smile once again.

Rae only chuckled and returned her focus once again.

Just at that moment, unknown to both Rae and Neal, Aemilia had overheard their conversation, somewhere near the part where Neal asked Gabriel does she have a strategy plan. She hadn’t meant to eavesdrop but she couldn’t help her curiosity because she did not know much about the girl, Rae Rolite.

Just then, it had been just her luck, an Asper happened to be living in her home and Aemilia knew the value of an Asper.

If she were to inform the Militia, everything will be solved.

Futurist 'Conspiracia' Chapter 3 Part 1

Since the chapter is too long, i better break it into parts. ^^
Your feedback is very much appreciated. =D

                                        Chapter 3 (Part 1)

Paxon Orphanage

Rae was shocked by the news and she just stood by the doorway, her eyes wide staring at the flat-screened wide television.

The XX-2 Virus was a deadly virus which could consume one’s mind completely. The process is slow but deadly. Ever since its outbreak two years ago, almost a thousand citizens died from it and many live in fear of the virus. The virus was contagious, spreading from one to the next if not careful and will eventually cause death.

As far as Rae knew, the outbreak of the virus was because of an accident that occurred in Omega CO, A huge company that conducted various experiments such as the gene transformation, all in the field of genetic engineering. The tall uniquely designed titanium-built building was in chaos the moment their experiment failed and ever since then, they have been finding a way to get rid of the virus.

Rae had thought of donating some of her blood as an antidote for the disease but Neal forbids her from doing so because he knew her secret, that if she donated too much blood, it would only shorten her life seeing that her vision was already affected. Rae clearly stated that her vision was not perfect was due to a hereditary disease.

She knew she was going blind anytime soon and she knew she does not have much time left to accomplish her mission.

However, she thought Neal going against her will to donate her blood was relevant to her understanding because if she were to die soon, she could not complete her father’s mission and she could not have the chance to find out the truth about her father’s death. Why did the raid happened on that night and why did the Militia soldiers aimed for her father?

She thought it how selfish of her but maybe at least she could donate some, just a little as starter. Rae need not be afraid of the virus because she knew her ‘blood of miracles’ will do the protection against the bacteria of the virus and will kill it instantly, making her immune to the disease.

Feeling the presence of someone by the door, Neal turned, surprised to find Rae leaning against the door frame, her eyes only focusing onto the television. She looked a little weak, he thought.

              ‘Rae?’ he called out.

Rae’s dark blue eyes darted from the television to Neal’s charming face, looking concerned as he smiled at her.

‘I’m sorry. I’m just shock by the news.’ Rae said as she helped herself into the drawing room and flopped down beside Neal.

‘It’s worrying. It’s not safe to wander around in the City Square anymore.’ Neal said.

‘I think it’s always not safe…for us.’ Rae bit her lip.

‘You have been sleeping for two days, sleeping beauty. How’s your injury?’ Neal asked, smiling.

Oh, Rae had always thought that his smile was charming and it could melt any girl’s heart. Nevertheless, she was one of those girls.

My injury has healed though it still hurts a little every time I walk. I guess it will recover completely by next week.’

‘I see. I’m glad you are alright. I’m beginning to get worry if you haven’t awake from your unconsciousness by the next day, sleeping beauty.’ He teased and patted her head, messing her hazel brown coloured hair.

‘Thanks for worrying.’ Rae smiled and reached her hand out to mess his black hair too. They both then exchanged snickering glares, wondering whose hair will be messier to which, Rae knew it would be hers because her hair was medium-long compared to Neal’s.

‘Rae, please be careful, of the virus and…everything.’ Neal said, looking concerned and serious.

‘Don’t worry, I will. Besides, I’m immune to the virus. It’s you and the kids should be extra careful.’ Rae smiled and ruffled with his hair vigorously till his hair was really messy.

            ‘Yea…’
